Android Security Flaw!

Dear Airbitz users: This is an urgent security update!

If you use an Android device, there is a security flaw that you need to be aware of. Due to a recently discovered flaw in the Android software, hackers can break into your phone simply by sending you a text message.

In order to break into your phone, hackers only need to know your phone number. You do not even have to open the text or download an attachment. For more information, read this article.

Until Google fixes this flaw, use this work around to protect your phone’s security:

  1. Go to your phone’s text messaging application
  2. Go into your settings
  3. Uncheck the box that says “Automatically retrieve MMS messages”

After that, just be careful not to open messages from numbers you do not recognize, and definitely do not download attachments from unrecognized contacts.

We hope this is helpful to you, and please reach out to us if you have questions about your wallet’s security.
