We’ve just shipped a pair of major Monero upgrades to Edge: Full Sync and Private Key Import. Together, they unlock a more complete XMR workflow—improving verification, usability and confidence for users who rely on Monero for privacy and real-world use.
These features build on our existing support for Fast Sync and Transaction Key access, enabling Edge to serve both newcomers and power users without compromise.
What’s New
Full Sync allows Edge to locally download and validate the Monero blockchain. Instead of relying on remote servers to provide balances and transaction data, users can verify their own history directly. This aligns more closely with Monero’s privacy ethos and technical design.
Private Key Import enables users to migrate an existing Monero account into Edge while retaining full ownership of their keys. Moving wallets or devices becomes easier, with no custodial dependencies or intermediaries. Private Key Import also pairs naturally with Full Sync for users who want to verify long-standing balances or historical transactions.
Why It Matters
Monero rewards users who value sovereignty, transparency, and privacy. To support that, a wallet needs to provide flexible levels of verification and control. With this update, new users can onboard quickly through Fast Sync, while advanced users can choose Full Sync for trustless validation and Private Key Import for complete ownership and portability. Full Sync and Private Key Import for Monero are available now in the latest Edge release on iOS and Android. We’re continuing to invest in privacy-first features across assets, and Monero remains a core part of that focus.
