Edge Development Update

This release features the integration of our new backend exchange partner, Bity!

Bity allows users to exchange (buy & sell) up to 5’000 CHF a day using their European bank account without going through the KYC or “Know Your Customer” identity processes. Bity, in Edge, gives European users looking to buy and sell Bitcoin a high level of privacy, security, and control they can’t get on other platforms. Users do not need to provide an email, phone number, address, or any other forms of identification to use the service.

For those that remember our first application, the Airbitz Bitcoin Wallet, Bity was the exchange many of our users with European bank accounts used to buy and sell bitcoin with Euros. It’s great to have them back, integrated in Edge offering a first-rate service to our European user base.  

Our development team also made some optimizations to the amount of memory the Edge app was consuming on a user’s device. These optimizations give boosts to the app’s overall stability and performance, especially for highly used accounts with lots of transactions. They also made some visual improvements, making the Edge app more visually appealing on a broader scope of devices.
