In the latest release of Edge we’ve added support for buying crypto in Australia, support for the crypto-currency Tezos, and FIO domain name registration.
To lead off the release, we’re proud to integrate, Banxa, enabling our users to buy bitcoin and ether in Australia.
Through Banxa, users in Australia can buy directly from their bank account through POLi, a popular online payment network. Banxa also allows users to buy crypto through physical locations on the Newsagent network.
Pretty soon, any user, anywhere in the world will be able to on-board into crypto through Edge in as many ways as possible. We’re proud to partner with Banxa who helps us get closer to our goal of global coverage.
This latest version also integrates a new crypto-asset, Tezos. Users can now store, send, receive, and exchange Tezos in a secure, private, and easy to use way right inside Edge. We look forward to the continued development of the smart contract platform.
It’s great to add a new exchange and a new asset but this release also includes the seeds of the future of user experience. Edge users can now register wallet names on existing domains or create their own FIO domains on the FIO protocol.
Name registrations can be purchased using bitcoin, bitcoin cash, ether, litecoin, and USDC. The FIO foundation has been and continues to work with leading wallets, exchanges, and payment processors to establish an email like experience for sending and receiving crypto-currency.
We’re close to a mainnet launch of the FIO protocol and look forward to its continued development.
